Luxury Label MOSCHINO collaborates with Australian not-for-profit, The Brotherhood of St. Laurence
December 17, 2010:
October, 2010: Iconic Italian fashion label MOSCHINO is re-launching the Spring/Summer 2010-11 collection in Australia represented in Australia by Mod-Style – a wholesale optical distributor belonging to innovative not-for-profit, the Brotherhood of St Laurence.
This means profits from the sale of the S/S 2010 MOSCHINO eyewear range assist Australian families and children in need.
“The unique partnership follows similar overseas trends, such as YSL’s recent initiative with disadvantaged teens in London, where luxury brands are developing collaborations with a social imperative, working with demographics well outside their core purchaser,” explained Jeff Moon, General Manager, Social Enterprises, Brotherhood of St Laurence.
“We’ve worked hard to negotiate the distribution rights for the Australian market, and we’re excited to be bringing MOSCHINO eyewear back. It’s particularly timely given the current throwback to 90’s fashion, and ladies can feel even better about purchasing luxurious Italian frames – it’s guilt free spending as your money is working to support Australian families in need.”
The range includes 12 styles of sunglasses and 25 styles of optical frames with luxurious finishings including Swarovski crystals and pearls, silver and gold highlights, as well as metallic bow detailing in line with this season’s feminine styling. Styles are available in tortoiseshell, brown and black. Priced from RRP $389.00 for the optical range and from RRP $329 for the sunglass range.
A standout style is worn by Brazilian supermodel and Victoria Secret Angel, Alessandra Ambrosio, who is the face of the MOSCHINO S/S2010 eyewear range. The oversized black acetate frames with silver bow detailing see a return to siren-style glamour with MOSCHINO edge. For a full list of styles, refer to the range sheet.
Keep your eye out for the iconic heart shaped pair- the Lolita-esque frames in Red – once sported by Madonna on stage. Just in time for the Spring Racing season, expect to see these cheeky frames on some of Australia’s famous faces, in support of fashion with extra heart – celebrating the collaboration between Moschino and the Brotherhood of St Laurence. With only 40 pairs in Australia- 20 pairs given as an exclusive gift to Australia’s favourite faces of fashion and 20 pairs will be available for purchase by lucky Australian fashionistas.
